FT could cancel its offer on Teliasonera if the Scandinavian operator does not support a friendly approach or if financial markets remain opposed to the deal. Simultaneously, Teliasonera confirmed that Telenor is also interested in launching a takeover bid.

Iliad/ Free (France) will swallow Telecom Italia Alice (France) for about €800m. Free entered exclusive talks with Telecom Italia to buy its French unit. The deal will add 900k ADSL customers to Free bringing its subscriber base to 3.9m and ranks second to Orange France with 7.6m customers.
