Ericsson said it won a contract with Meteor Mobile (Ireland) to supply a W-CDMA/HSPA network and microwave equipment. It inked a 4-year contract wit T-Mobile NL to manage operations for the former Orange network in NL. It was awarded a managed services contract with Telefonica Brazil to maintain its new fibre network. Ericsson and Telecom Italia have signed a MoU to introduce LTE in Italy. Its Croatian subsidiary has won a major deal for supplying telecom equipment to Interdnyestrcom in Moldavia and Belarus-based FE Velcom.

ZTE has been selected by Zapp (Romania) to deploy a W-CDMA/HSDPA network.

ALU is deploying a WiMAX network for Tatung InfoComm (Taiwan). It has renewed a four-year maintenance services contract with Taiwanese Chunghwa Telecom. Telekom Austria will enhance its IPTV service with ALU IPTV new features, such as HDTV and Time shift TV. It won a €22m contract with Turk Telekom to deploy an intelligent control-plane based optical network, and will deploy a country-wide carrier Ethernet service infrastructure for PT Telkom in Indonesia. Telus (Canada) has selected ALU to provide IBM Tivoli Netcool software into its network. Thailand’ s mobile service provider True Move awards ALU a $10m GSM/EDGE expansion contract. ALU wins €340m network operations outsourcing contract from Swiss operator Sunrise. China Telecom has awarded ALU a multi-million Euro contract for nationwide IP metro area network expansion. ITC (Ukraine) has chosen ALU for its Ethernet wireless backhaul solution.

Motorola will deploy a nationwide TETRA network in Ireland, as well as in S. Korea for SK Energy.

NSN said that it has replaced 18,000 base stations made by other equipment providers, since April 2007, in 15 countries and with 22 operators. It will expand Celcom’ s 3G radio and packet core network in Malaysia. It also said that it crosses 1500-unit sales milestone in one year for its new multi-core IP security platforms.

Cisco is working with Orange Business Services to upgrade its IP-VPN services.

Nortel has received an order from German cable company Kabel BW to deploy a complete carrier VoIP solution.

Calix has won the network equipment order from Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC).

Huawei has been appointed by StarHub (Singapore) to expand and upgrade its current nationwide mobile broadband network to HSPA+ by 2Q09. It will deploy a 40G commercial transport network for TransTeleCom, a fixed telecom carrier in Russia. It will also deploy first CDMA2000 1X/1xEV-DO Rev. A network in HK for PCCW.

Juniper Networks has signed a deal with New Zealand's Orcon to deploy its Networks MX960 Ethernet Services Routers and E120 Broadband Services Routers.

Amdocs has been selected by Azerbaijan based mobile operator, Bakcell, for providing its unified convergent charging platform.
