Motorola: Happy Birthday it is the 35th anniversary of the first cellular phone call (3rd April 1973).

Videocon (India) has expressed interest in Motorola' s mobile phone unit. Videocon is already manufacturing consumer electronics and home appliances. It also owns mobile phone licenses for 22 circles in India and a retail network of about 1,000 stores.

Nortel updates its R&D strategy, concentrating certain skill sets in 15 R&D sites around the world: 2 full-service centers, 9 centers of excellence and 4 specialty sites. It hopes the new structure would help cut costs to 15% of revenues.
