Ericsson has been selected by Paraguay-based Personal for a countrywide 3G/HSPA network, and will provide upgrades to Wind Hellas' GSM/WCDMA network in Greece.

HTC will provide CDMA handsets to Reliance (India).

Motorola announces it has won $165m order from Etihad Atheeb Telecom (Atheeb) in S. Arabia for WiMAX 802.16e infrastructure. It has completed its first mobile WiMAX trial in Thailand with United Information Highway (UIH).

ZTE will deliver the core network solutions to Etihad Atheeb Telecom (Atheeb) in S. Arabia, and

Wipro is providing IT services.

POSDATA FLYVO (S. Korea) has signed a WiMAX contract with Omnivision in Venezuela.

ALU will deploy the first WiMAX network in Croatia for WiMAX Telecom. It will deliver e-learning, voice and Internet services to Thailand’s Khon Kaen University, and converged telephony solution in Brazil for Votorantim.

ZTE has secured a contract from PTCL (Pakistan) to build its optical backbone network using DWDM technology.

Huawei provides a fiber optic network to Malawi Telecom, and A NGN network to Etapa Telecom (Ecuador).

Albtelecom (Albania) has selected NSN for developing a Next Generation Network (NGN) for proving broadband services.

Fujitsu said it has doubled the capacity of the PC-1 Trans-Pacific submarine network between the US and Japan.
