Ovum has published a report on NA operator 4Q07 revenues and spending. In wireline, revenues were flat at $43.8bn, but capex increased by 12.4% to $8.8bn. Capex was driven by broadband (switching and routing as well as optical networking) and NGN new deployments. Cable revenues amounted to $17.3bn, up almost14%, while capex increased 8.6% to $3.7bn. Mobile revenues grew almost 10% to $38.6bn and related capex reached $6.3%, down 11.4%. Mobile capex highlighted the slowdown in mobile new deployment, specially in CDMA.
