Ericsson exits the PBX business, selling its related assets to Aastra Technologies for about €70m. Ericsson made about €320m in PBX sales in 2007.

Motorola and RIM have exchanged lawsuits on mutual patent infringements, after their cross licensing agreement ended at the end of 2007.

ZTE is reported to be in talks with Motorola over a wide cooperation.

ALU is partnering with HP to integrate the HP SOA Systinet governance software with ALU’ s OmniAccess 8550 Web Services Gateway and secure SOAs architectures.

Thomson, Sagem and Orange have formed a JV, called Soft at Home, to focus on middleware equipment for domestic use. The JV will sell set-top boxes and gateways equipped with "Soft At Home" software in the coming months and aimed at interconnecting various domestic devices and appliances. Soft at Home ambitions to create a de facto standard for the domestic multimedia ecosystem.
