Sony Ericsson has signed deals with with 10 music labels to add content to its mobile music download service. It will outsource the production of the four new lower cost handset announced last week to 3rd party suppliers.

Motorola and Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) have formed a new industry group, EGPS Forum, to develop and improve location technologies and meet consumer and regulatory needs. There are, however, no announced plans to freely license the technology.

Ericsson has demonstrated Long Term Evolution (LTE) in Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) as well as Time Division Duplex (TDD) mode on a single base station platform.

NSN is teaming with Ubiquisys to provide femtocell solutions that offer greatly improved 3G network coverage and quality of mobile services at home.

Ericsson and Cisco join the Femto Forum, an industry association for the home base station market.

ZTE, Lenovo, Hisense, LG, Samsung and New Postcom have secured the first access licenses to sell 3G TD-SCDMA handsets in China.
