Global telecom services revenue reached $1500bn in 2006 (up 7.4%), but CAGR over the 2006-2011 period is poised to slow to 4.2%.

The EU Commission targets to modify billing rules for abroad calls. Today, the billing system invoices on a minute base. Commissioner V. Reding wants that calls are invoiced on the real call length (on average 20% less billing). She also said that SMS tariffs and mobile data transfer are scrutinized.
