Vodafone will offer Nokia' s mobile service suite Ovi.

DT plans selling its Media & Broadcast unit to TDF (France) for about €800m.

Sprint Nextel and Clearwire abandon to jointly combine the WiMAX networks they are building. It is for the moment unknown how far Sprint Nextel is sticked to its WiMAX project.

French audiovisual agency CSA has launched a tender for 16 mobile TV channels, of which 3 would be public, using DVB-H technology.

Two initiatives in Central Americas/ Carribean: Venezuela and Cuba have agreed to the creation of a joint telecom firm (Telecom Gran Caribe) owned 60% by Venezuelan CVG Telecomunicaciones and 40% by Cuban Transbit.; the creation of a telecom operator for Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Nicaragua as part of the Bolivian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA).
