APAC GSM users reached 1bn mark at the end of June 07. Of this total, almost 66m were 3G WCDMA, on a total of 100m 3G regional users. As a technology, GSM accounts now for 84.5% of the regional mobile users, with all other technologies declining. PDC and analog combines only account for less than 2%, while CDMA users have less than 14%market share. Japan continues to dominate the APAC WCDMA market, but with a declining 72% market share, while other countries (led by Australia, Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan) combined account now for 28% of APAC 3G WCDMA users.
