A few set of market information released this week:

  • According to Analysys, average revenue leakage among global telecom operators increased 1.5 point to 13.6% in 2006, and average fraud losses have grown 1.6 points in 2007 to 4.5% of revenues.

  • According to a Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) survey, 138 HSDPA networks have launched commercial services in 66 countries, with a further 47 HSDPA networks currently in deployment.

  • Jupiter Research forecasts that consumer spending on mobile broadcast TV services would surpass $6.6bn per year worldwide by 2012. 120m users in over 40 countries would be connected. DVB-H would be the dominant transmission standard. The USA would be the largest single market for mobile broadcast TV services in 2012.

  • According to In-Stat, the worldwide Ethernet switch market grew over 19% in port shipments and 16% in revenues in 2006, and would reach some $20bn by 2011. Gigabit Ethernet port shipments increased by 44.6% in 2006, and revenues increased by 22.3%.
